Overload Support
Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 21, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Overload collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Overload mobile app, support pages, and related services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and identity information: email address, authentication identifiers, internal account IDs, and account metadata needed to sign you in and manage your account.
- Workout information: selected exercises, sets, reps, weights, timestamps, favorites, and training history.
- Optional analytics and usage data: if you explicitly allow analytics in the app, we collect information about how you interact with the app, including screens visited, features used, button interactions, and other in-app events.
- Analytics consent information: we store your analytics preference and related metadata locally on your device so the app can remember your setting.
- Support information: details you provide in support requests, privacy requests, or legal inquiries.
3. Analytics and usage data
We collect analytics and usage data only after you provide explicit consent in the app. If you allow analytics, we collect information about how you interact with the app to improve functionality, performance, and user experience. This includes data such as screens visited, features used, button interactions, and other in-app events.
This information is associated with a unique user identifier assigned to your account. We do not collect directly identifying information such as your name or email address as part of this analytics data.
We use a third-party analytics provider, PostHog, to process this data on our behalf. PostHog acts as a data processor and does not use your information for its own purposes.
The data collected is used solely to:
- Understand how users interact with the app.
- Improve features and usability.
- Monitor performance and diagnose issues.
The legal basis for processing this data is your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time in the app's privacy settings, and turning analytics off stops future analytics collection from that device.
We do not use this data for advertising purposes, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing or cross-app tracking.
4. How we use information
- Provide authentication and account management.
- Store and display your training records and progress.
- Generate AI-assisted progressive overload planning.
- Maintain service security, detect abuse, and prevent fraud.
- If you opt in, understand feature usage, evaluate product decisions, and improve app stability and usability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Health and fitness context
Workout data can reflect fitness-related behavior. We handle this information with care and limit processing to service delivery, user-requested features, support, security, and legal compliance.
6. AI processing
We may process your training history to generate AI-assisted workout suggestions. AI outputs are probabilistic and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Recommendations are for informational purposes and do not replace professional medical or coaching advice.
7. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your location, processing is based on one or more of the following: contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
8. Data sharing and tracking
We do not track users across third-party apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Any third-party services we use, such as analytics providers, process data solely on our behalf and under our instructions.
We may disclose information to:
- Service providers that help us operate the service, such as hosting, authentication, AI, analytics, and support vendors.
- Authorities or other parties where required by law.
- Parties involved in corporate transactions, subject to lawful safeguards.
- Parties necessary to protect rights, security, safety, and integrity.
For optional product analytics described above, PostHog acts as one of our service providers.
9. International data transfers
Information may be processed in jurisdictions outside your place of residence. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Data retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain account history, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Data may be deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
You can delete your account directly in the app from the Account tab. When you do, we delete your profile, linked sign-in records, favorites, training history, and planned sessions, except where limited retention is required by law.
Your analytics preference may remain stored on your device until you change it, clear app data, or remove the app.
11. Your choices and rights
You can turn optional analytics on or off at any time in the app's privacy settings. Turning analytics off stops future optional analytics collection from that device.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access and obtain a copy of your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Request portability where legally available.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
12. Children's privacy
Overload is not directed to children under the age required by local law to provide valid consent. If we become aware of unauthorized collection, we will take appropriate steps to remove the data.
13. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Third-party services
The service integrates with third-party providers, including authentication, AI, and optional analytics providers. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
15. Policy changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Updated versions are effective when posted. Material changes may be additionally communicated through app or service notices.
